rectangular with rounded corners, the lid inset with a enamel plaque representing The Family of Darius before Alexander, within chased gold border, the sides and base decorated in translucent dark blue enamel over wavy or sunray engine-turning, within opaque white enamel rims and elaborate dark and pale blue taille d’épargne enamel borders of stylised tulips alternating with geometrical ornaments and chased laurel wreaths around turquoise enamel beads, on a sablé ground, the base with sun ray engine turning, maker’s mark in vertical lozenge, Geneva town mark
