With their almost architectonic composition, peplophoroi (statues of women wearing a peplos) are a hallmark of Greek classical statuary. Although there is no other exact Roman replica of the present figure, the horizontal hem of the overfold and the disposition of folds around the flexed leg suggest a Greek original from circa 440 B.C. (see the Demeter Boboli type: arachne.dainst.org/entity/1066594).
