This model enjoyed great success during the reign of Louis XVI, with two- and three-light variants. Two-light models include a pair sold at Sotheby's Paris, June 29, 2023, lot 627, and a pair conserved in the Louvre Museum (OA5190, illustrated in H. Ottomeyer, P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, TI. Ottomeyer, P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, TI, p. 186, n°3.912). For three-light models, several pairs have been sold, including two pairs, Sotheby's Paris sale, Hubert Guerrand-Hermès collection, l'hôtel de Lannion, December 14, 2023, lot 113. One pair, attributed to Quentin-Claude Pitoin, is in the Musée du Louvre (OA5190).
