This model enjoyed great success during the reign of Louis XVI, with two and three-light variants. The two-light models include a pair sold at Sotheby's Paris, June 29, 2023, lot 627, and a pair illustrated in H. Ottomeyer, P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, vol.I, p. 186, n°3.912. For three-light models, several pairs have been sold, including two pairs, Sotheby's Paris sale, Hubert Guerrand-Hermès collection, l'hôtel de Lannion, December 14, 2023, lot 113. One pair, attributed to the bronzier Quentin-Claude Pitoin, is in the Musée du Louvre (OA5190).
