This model of candelabra was inspired by two models attributed to François Rémond in the collections of Waddesdon Manor (see P. Hugues, The Wallace Collection, TIII, London, 2006, p. 1237, fig. 132-3 and p. 1251, fig. 134-5). Other models can be found in château de Fontainebleau and the Musée Nissim de Camondo. A pair of similar candelabra from the Louis XVI period, attributed to François Rémond, was sold at Hôtel Drouot on 14 December 2012, lot 167.
