rectangular, shaped as a book, the lid decorated with a chased vine leaf and grape border picked out in translucent blue enamel on a finely matted ground, around a central engine-turned pattern, three sides with reeded decoration simulating book pages, the back side decorated as a spine formed of squares centred with flowerheads, the second one engraved with the initials CMH, maker’s mark, post-Revolutionary unofficial 2e titre, Paris 2e titre and grosse garantie 1809-1819, the right rim stamped: 21
