A gold and enamel snuff box, probably Hanau, circa 1760


oval, the lid brightly-enamelled en plein with the Judgement of Paris, within a chased scrollwork and stylised shell border, the sides decorated with shaped cartouches enamelled with mythological scenes within engraved and chased floral foliage, maker’s mark only R & B incuse within sprigs, later control marks on rim
