C. Grimm, Frans Hals and His Workshop, Netherlands 2024, cat. no. A4.2.20b (as a 19th-century copy after Hals).

This nineteenth-century pastiche combines elements from two paintings by Frans Hals—Fisherboy in a Landscape (Antwerp, Royal Museum of Fine Arts) and Laughing Boy with a Flute (Schwerin, Gallery of Old and New Masters)—and attests to the enduring popularity of the Dutch artist.
