This panoramic view of Macao, looking north-east from Penha Hill, shows the inner Harbour to the left and Praya Grande to the right. Visible across the skyline are the Sé Catedral da Natividade de Nossa Senhora with its long nave and twin cupolas, newly built in stone and consecrated in 1850, the ruined façade of the religious complex of São Paulo and imposing Fort Monte. In the distance at the far end of the bay, Guia fortress and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows, perched upon Guia Hill.
