Description

A Greek Bronze Mirror Handle

circa mid 5th Century B.C. 


in the form of a woman or goddess standing with her right arm extended and formerly holding a dove, and wearing a woolen peplos and pointed shoes, her finely engraved voluminous coiffure terminating in a broad chignon at the nape of her neck, an engraved palmette and two split palmettes on the mirror support above.

Height as restored 15.2 cm.
