Acquired directly from the artist by Khorshed and Dara Karanjavala, circa early 1960s

Thence by descent

 

The Karanjavalas and Sabavalas were family friends within the close knit social circle of the Bombay Parsis. Jehangir and Shireen Sabavala were often dinner guests at the Karanjavala home in Malabar Hill and they remained friends throughout their lives.
