Born in Piacenza, Enrico Astorri commenced his studies as a sculptor at the Instituto Gazzola in his home town. He subsequently transferred to the famous Accademia di Brera in Milan. In the following years he exhibited many of his works at national and international exhibitions including his marble sculpture of La Serenata at the Turin exhibition of 1884.
