French School, 18th Century

This elegantly dressed woman shares similar stylistic traits with a pastel of An old Lady by the French artist, Claude Bornet (1733-1804), in the National Gallery of Art, Washington, most notably in the handling of the clothes, as well as the slightly coppery colouration employed.
