Bonds’ 22nd home run of the 2002 season came off of Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Cliff Politte in the top of the ninth inning of the Giants 6-3 victory. Bonds’ amazing career-high .370 combined with a monstrous 1.381 OPS propelled the Giants all the way to the World Series. Bonds’ home run during the game provided an insurance run as his round-tripper was the final run of the game.
