This romantic drama was directed and produced by Otto Preminger. The film stars Deborah Kerr, David Niven, Jean Seberg, Mylène Demongeot and Geoffrey Horne. The film is unusual as it has both colour and black-and-white sequences, a technique that was used a lot in the silent and early talkie eras, but was seldom adopted in the 1950s. The film's director, Otto Preminger, appointed Saul Bass to design this stylish poster, after their first collaboration in 1955 for The Man with a Golden Arm. Bass went on to design a total of nine poster campaigns for Preminger.
