FOUR WOODBLOCK PRINTS
EDO PERIOD (19TH CENTURY)
Each woodblock print, from the series Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road (Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi), signed Hiroshige ga, published by Takenouchi Magohachi (Hoeido), circa 1833–34, comprising:
- Shirasuka: View of Shiomizaka (Shirasuka, Shiomizaka zu)
- Minakuchi: Famous Dried Gourd (Minakuchi, meibutsu kanypo)
- Kusatsu: Famous Post House (Kusatsu, meibutsu tateba)
- Otsu: Hashirii Teahouse (Otsu, hashirii chaya)
Each a horizontal oban:

The First: 25.3 x 36.5 cm., 10 x 14 1/4 in.
The Second: 25.4 x 37.3 cm., 10 x 14 5/8 in.
The Third: 25.5 x 28.5 cm., 10 x 11 1/4 in.
The Fourth: 24 x 36.5 cm., 9 1/2 x 14 1/4 in.
The fourth print was exhibited at Le Musée National des Arts Asiatiques - Guimet, Paris, July-October 2019
