Vintage NASA “Red Number” chromogenic color photograph, 10 by 8 inches, “A Kodak Paper” watermark, press captions printed in purple to verso. NASA image ID “NASA S-71-19510” printed in upper left margin in red; minor toning, two small pieces of tape to upper margin.


Commander Alan Shepard walks toward the Modularized Equipment Transporter (MET), during the first Apollo 14 EVA. An EVA checklist is visible on Shepard's left wrist, and LMP Ed Mitchell can be seen in the background, working at a subpackage of the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP). The cylindrical object directly under Mitchell's left hand is the Passive Seismic Experiment (PSE).
