The massive 363-feet tall Apollo 11 space vehicle, being launched from Pad A, Launch Complex 39, at Kennedy Space Center on the morning of 16 July 1969. The Saturn V was the largest production model of the Saturn family of rockets, and was designed under the direction of Wernher von Braun. To this day the Saturn V remains the only launch vehicle to carry humans beyond low Earth orbit.
