4to (8 1/2 x 5 7/8 in.; 217 x 149 mm). Black letter, with roman and italic, text in two columns, general and New Testament titles within woodcut borders (the latter defective); lacks 6 of 552 leaves (leaves A2–7 of Genesis); soiling and browning throughout, Dd7–8 & Yy7–8 quite dampstained, several leaves, including NT title, torn with significant loss, other marginal chips, tears, losses, and repairs. Eighteenth-century reverse calf; very worn, rebacked, rear cover detached. Sold with all faults, not subject to return. 


Bound with the Bible are several theological texts, all variously defective: a Book of Common Prayer (lacks title-page, ca. 1730); Robert Herrey's Two right profitable and fruitfull concordances, or large and ample tables alphabeticall (London: Deputies of Christopher Barker, [1597]; STC 13228b.13); The Whole booke of Psalmes. Collected into English meetre by Thomas Sternhold, John Hopkins, and others, conferred with the Hebrue, with apt notes to sing them withall. (London: by John Windet for the assignes of Richard Daye, 1595; STC 2490).
