Pierre Chen teamed up with Faiveley to purchase a parcel of Musigny which he now owns. Under this arrangement, the team at Faiveley manage the vineyards and make the wine and Pierre's share is exclusively bottled in magnums. As a result, Pierre is the only person to have magnums of Faiveley Musigny, and this is the only opportunity to buy them from Pierre. We are delighted to offer five magnums, from each of the first five vintages.

Assembled over some forty years with care, connoisseurship and a keen palate, 25,000 bottles of wine from the revered cellars of Pierre Chen – visionary epicurean and aesthete in equal measure whose collections of both wine and art rank among the greatest in the world – comes to Sotheby’s starting this autumn. The first of these, The Encyclopaedic Cellar, will be an auction event unlike any other. While subsequent sales will focus on specific regions or types of wine, the first offering from Mr. Chen’s cellars is designed to give a broader sense of the scope and quality of this truly extraordinary encyclopaedic collection.
