Condition

In fairly good condition overall with surface dirt and numerous vertical hairline fissures, consistent with the material, and with three slightly larger vertical fissures to the torso as visibly in the catalogue. The arms are carved separately with a small gap visible to both joints. On finger is partly missing to his proper left hand. The fold of his perizonium to his proper right hip has been reattached. The 18th century gilt-wood frame with a few lacks to the gilding visible in some places and with a larger loss to the top. The gold leaf gilding has been retouched in numerous places with a gold oil mixture. There are two small losses to the carved wood leaves to the proper right of the frame.
