the finial formed as Bacchus with a putto and faun, painted with vignettes of musicians and courtly figures in landscape, blue crossed swords marks to bowl and stand, Pressnummer 10 to bowl and stand (3)
Condition
Minute rim chip to stand. Some typical patches of wear to the centre of the dish. The group of Bacchus and two putti which forms the finial has some restoration to his neck, back and shoulders, his left foot and the left leg of the putti to his left. The exact damages below this restoration cannot be accurately stated but the restored foot is almost certainly replaced. Stand: 39cm. wide, 15 3/8 in. Bowl and cover: 30.5cm. high, 12in.; 30.5cm. wide, 12in. The bowl is slightly warped to the cover does not fit precisely.
