the first in 18th century taste, richly overlaid in gold cagework chased with putti inhabiting garland-hung scrolls, a green enamel collar inscribed: Dieu vous benit, rose diamond pushpiece. 4.5 cm., 1 3/4 in.; and a smaller example with paste-set reeded gold mount, 3.5cm., 1 3/8 in.
Condition
The first with a minute hairline crack across the whole base from circa 2 o'clock to 7 o'clock, only visible when opened, otherwise in good order; the second with some surface scratching (circa 1 cm length) below the gold mount on the base
