seated on a lotus throne in dhyanasana with hands held in dhyanamudra holding a kalahsa, wearing a billowing green shawl around his shoulders, clad in elaborate gold jewelry around the arms, neck and ears, a finial crown cresting the forehead, surrounded by a mandorla with a rainbow border and decorated with foliage and fruit, all painted in gold on a red background, with repeated images of Amitayus outlined in gold mirroring the posture of the central deity Himalayan Art Resources item no. 13658.

Condition

In good overall condition with level of details intact. Overall accretion and areas of creasing throughout. Areas of loss most noticeable along the details of the face of central figure, as visible in illustration. Consolidation to the pigment in the central figure and surrounding throne area.
