Condition
Original canvas. Craquelure throughout the work with areas of paint lifting, notably to the sitter's face and in the lower portion of the canvas. There is a flake of paint loss lower centre. Discoloured and dirty paint surface. UV light inspection flecked retouchings and infilling to the sitter's face, neck and shoulders with some further touches to the background right of the sitter's head. Held in a decorative pierced gilt painted composition frame with some wear.
