The sheet has been adhered to the backing board with tabs of adhesive tape at each corner. The edges of the sheet are deckled in keeping with the nature of the wove paper. There are Artist's pinholes at or towards all four corners and marks from pinheads at the upper and lower left corners. The sheet undulates and cockles very slightly in places, in keeping with the Artist's working methods and materials. There are tiny lines of craquelure to the area of impasto black pigment over the figure's torso. There is very faint staining around the edges of some instances of charcoal. There are faint handling marks to the edges, and a few instances of studio detritus and light spots of staining to the sheet in places. There is light surface dirt. This excepting, the work appears in very good overall condition. The sheet is floated and held behind glass in a painted wooden frame.
