the recessed central rectangular panel carved in relief with a bird standing in profile, an elaborate curving foliate tendril emerging from his beak, a beaded border encircling the panel, the perimeter decorated with a bull's-eye pattern in black and yellow against a red ground, the side panels carved with lotuses and floral motifs Himalayan Art Resources item no. 13626.

Condition

In good overall condition for an item of this type and age. Some staining, accretion and loss to the gilding and polychromy throughout. Areas of loss most visible in perimeter border along the central and lower right edge. The lower right edge showing a loss to the wood.
