Condition

The canvas is not lined. UV examination reveals a spot of retouching to the centre of the canvas just above the bridge and a further few intermittent spots of retouching to the left of the extreme upper edge and the top of the extreme left edge. There is some minor frame abrasion with tiny associated losses in places to the extreme edges. There is a small area of craquelure to the dark green pigment in the centre of the lower left quadrant, which appears to relate to an impact from behind and the reverse of this area of the canvas appears to have been consolidated. There is a vertical stretcher bar mark with some associated fine lines of craquelure. There are a few other fine lines of craquelure in places. This work is in overall good condition.
