Composed of jade beads interspersed with baton-shaped links applied with red guilloché enamel and white enamel, accented with single-cut diamonds, finished with two buckle-shaped clasps set with round and single-cut diamonds, convertible for wear into two bracelets, length 15¼ inches, signed Cartier, numbered 7916 and 8208; circa 1925. With signed box.

Condition

In good condition, the mounting with minor scratches commensurate with wear. Cartier signature only visible on one clasp; numbering visible on both although rubbed due to age, the number 8208 not easily distinguished. Mounting tests as platinum. Necklace separates into two strands and may be worn as a pair of bracelets, one with larger jade beads (measuring approximately 6.4 mm), the other with smaller beads (measuring approximately 4.9 mm). The enamel with some small areas of loss only visible under very close inspection, not noticeable when worn. The jade beads are medium slightly yellowish green with visible matrix. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 0.85 carats, are bright and lively. Clasps are in good working order.
