Condition

This impressive mirror with boldly carved acanthus leaves is in overall good condition. The mirror plate with small areas with marks and foxing, especially towards the top left and edges. Carved details generally with minor losses to the gilding, cracks and old marks and scratches throughout, consistent with age and use. Some edges and tips of leaves with minor chips and losses. The lower right corner leaf slightly loose and would benefit from further attention. Evidence of old woodworm activity, which no longer appears to be active. An impressive and attractive decorative piece.
