Arabic manuscript on paper in scroll form, written in black naskh ghubar, gold and polychrome headpiece, surah marked by gold markers, with leather headpiece
Condition
In overall good condition, minor tears and restoration to the paper, a tear affecting the middle of the scroll, losses, stains and smudges, as viewed.

Another Qajar Qur'an scroll dated to the same period but lacking the headpiece is now in the Indiana University Art Museum, USA (Acc.no. Lilly Libray, Adomeit Ms C5, published in http://www.iub.edu). A further example, dated 1268 AH/1851-52 AD, is now in the Khalili Collection (inv. No. MSS310 published in Bayani, Roger and Stanley 2009, pp.278-9).
