Text at the beginning of the document confirms it to be in compliance with Islamic law by Shukri Efendi-zade al-Sayyid Muhammad Tawfiq (Seyyid Mehmed Tevfik), whose seal impression appears below. The text specifies Mehmed Server Aga, Chief Companion (Ser-Musahib) at the court of Sultan ‘Abdulaziz, as the donor of a charitable endowmen (waqf) in the form of extensions and improvements to a mosque in Mahmud Pasha Veli Street. It is dated the last day of Sha’ban 1289 AH/2 November 1872 AD. It is witnessed by various people including the Chamberlain of the Imperial Palace (Kethüda Ağa-yi Darüsaade) Mehmed Anbarin ‘Ali.
This is followed by an addenda dated 17 Rabi’ al-Akhar 1290 AH/14 June 1873 AD.
This is followed by an earlier vakifname detailing an endowment by a certain Naksh-i Felek Kalfa (?) daughter of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abd al-Mannan to the Sinan Pasha Mosque in Besiktas, dated 1 Jumada al-Awwal 1274 AH/18 December 18 1857.
