Husayn Fayzi was a calligrapher born in Istanbul where he studied and later taught calligraphy. He was celebrated for his mastery in various scripts of Islamic calligraphy. The precision of his nasta‘liq can be seen in the present work. Mustaqimzade Sulayman Saaduddin Effendi in his Tuhfa-i Khattatin records that he was still alive in 1729 AD.
