拍品資料及來源
Grimshaw painted exquisitely detailed landscapes in the late 1860s, inspired by John Ruskin and the Pre-Raphaelites’ attention to detail, particularly the work of William Inchbold. The present work is comparable with The Wharfe Valley, with Barden Tower Beyond (Christie’s, London, 15 December 2011, lot 27) which also includes an angler to suggest the harmony of man in nature.
