Overall in very good condition. The wood surfaces with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, dents, abrasions, and areas of rubbing, discoloration, and paint residue, all consistent with age and use. There are natural knots, irregularities, and separations in the wood grain, typical for Inland fir, which have been reinforced with wood infill by Molesworth at the time of production. The rear upper area of three of the poles with areas of slightly more pronounced abrasions, the largest area measuring approximately ¼ x 7/8 in. The backs of the four rear feet each with some minor losses to the wood, the largest measuring approximately 1 ¼ x 1/8 in. The oil cloth is original; its surfaces with craquelure throughout, most prominently to the seat, and with some minor scuffs, scratches, nicks, and areas of rubbing, all consistent with age and gentle use. The brass tacks with some minor surface scratches and areas of rubbing, not visually distracting and consistent with age and gentle use. A rare model in a vibrant red upholstery, the settee presents very well overall.
