A group of early papers on the transistor, including a brief early letter noting the discovery (1948) and the first comprehensive report (1949), which was published simultaneously in two journals. Bardeen, Brattain, and Shockley shared the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics "for their researches on semiconductors and their discovery of the transistor effect".
