Condition
In overall very good condition with minor surface dirt, especially in the crevices. Minor splits are visible to the back of the ivory, notably on the left, consistent with material. 拍品資料及來源
The composition of this relief is after an engraving of the Martyrdom of St Laurence by Lucas Vorsterman I, after Pierre Paul Ruben's painting (Alte Pinakothek, München, inv. no. 338). It can be compared to an ivory relief with the Martyrdom of St Etienne, South Germany, second half 17th century, in the Louvre Museum (inv. no. Cl 20822). RELATED LITERATURE
