Condition
The actual painting is more tonal and a bit darker in colour than the catalogue illustration would suggest. Overall the painting seems to be in a fair condition. Under the naked eye : The panel and its integral frame have been cradled on the reverse; the painting consists of three planks joined together, of which the joins have been retouched a bit. Some minor discoloured retouchings can be seen in the sky area and in the birds in the sky. Under UV light : The varnish layer fluoresces almost completely, showing some strengthenings to the tail of the pheasant, as well the joins and in the lower left near the flower, and in the sky area. Offered with an integral frame, in fair condition (as shown in the illustration).
