each seated on a plinth, one seated in padmasana with his head slightly inclined in a meditative pose, his layers of long robes falling in naturalistic folds, the other seated with both hands resting on one raised knee and his head turned to the right, his long open robes exposing one shoulder and his chest with traces of polychrome green, red, and black paint on the garment and a pale slip originally applied on the face and hands, one plinth with the inscription reading dong liu (east six), the other with the inscription dong shiwu (east fifteen)

The figure as illustrated on the left in the catalogue, with its head re-attached from the neck, and its right hand also re-attached with some associated loss. The other figure with loss of one earring. Both with some flakes particularly to the plinth and to the back of the robes, otherwise both are in good condition.
