The work has not been relined. The canvas is slightly wavy. Some craquelures overall the surface mostly visible in light colors (pale blue, pink, cream) Paint losses in the lower right quadrant, in the upper middle (blue area) and in the upper left and right quadrant. Small pigment dent without loss in the upper left corner (in the mountains). There are some minor abrasions in the green area of the lower right corner and along the upper border. Minor accretions in the upper right corner in the sky and in the upper left. Retouching visible under UV light, mostly noticeable in the sky, on the top border, in the lower middle composition (village area), and in the center of the composition (dimension circa 3 x 2 cm). In very good condition

The small village of Sertig with its small church, belonging to the municipality of Davos is depicted in the typical style of German expressionism movement but with an original combination of colours translating the winter atmosphere. The mountains in the background are from left to right, the Mittaghorn, the Plattenfluh and the Hoch Ducan.
