The canvas has been laid down on fibreboard, while retaining what appears to be the original stretcher. There is craquelure in places, most notably to the moon and mountain. There are abrasions and cracking along the edges with minor losses. The work has recently been cleaned. UV light reveals some minor retouching above the horizon line on the right hand side, to the lower left corner and minor scattered retouching below the ship and some minor clustered dots of retouching in places to the sky and elsewhere. Held in a black lacquered wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
