Condition
Original canvas. There are abrasions along all four edges with associated paint loss which is particularly visible in the top left corner. There is a pattern of fine craquelure found throughout the composition, with one area of raised craquelure in the centre right which appears stable at present. The surface is covered in a layer of dirt with spots in places. Inspection under UV light does not reveal any obvious signs of restoration. Held in a metal gilt wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
