Condition

Overall measurements: 336cm across the top, 332cm across the bottom, 424cm the left hand side, 430cm the right hand side. Pile generally good, approximately 4mm in depth overall; scattered moth damage visible, for example in the upper left of the field and the upper right of the border. THE MOTH APPEARS TO BE AN ACTIVE INFESTATION. We would strongly recommend the carpet is heat treated for moth and then professionally cleaned before use. Heat treatment can be undertaken by a company such as Thermo Lignum (www.thermolignum.com). Each end is with trimmed cotton fringing and with cotton tape stitched to the reverse to stabilise. Side cords in good condition, and are probably original. There are two areas of discolouration, visible as yellowish patches in the lower border in the image online and in the detail of the reverse. These might improve slightly with cleaning. Overall the carpet is in good condition for its age and reasonably estimated.
