- House Altar with scenes from the Life of Christ
- partially gilt silver and ebony, on a wood core
- 26 by 19.5cm., 10¼ by 11 5/8 in.
Condition
Overall the condition of the altar is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few small losses, in particular to one of the plaques with a scene from the life of Christ, to two sides of the ebony frame around the central composition, and to a spike decoration to the top of the frame on the right side. There is some rubbing to the gilding throughout. The wood decoration at the top at the centre has been reattached and has been reinforced at the back with tape. The two spikes on the left side at the top have also been reattached, and glue residue is visible. The lance and soldier on horseback on the right side of the central scene are slightly loose, as is the angel on the right side.
