the centre repoussé and chased with the double-headed Imperial eagle within an oak leaf border, tulip bud finial, the sides engraved with presentation inscription in Russian dated 3 March 1709 'from Peter the Great to the Muscovite gentleman Dimitri Ivanovitch Kutchkin in recognition of his services in administering the Yassak tax', struck with maker's marks A.R.Th. and L.A.V. (Cyrillic)

Condition
Surface scratches throughout. Possibly missing part of the finial. The handle with old restoration; the double headed eagle on the handle, possibly added or re-attached later.
