Original canvas with undulations across the surface. There are two holes near the upper right corner and a further small hole near the lower left corner. There is a surface abrasion with paint loss approximately 8cm. long above Christ's right shoulder. There is paint flaking and paint loss running along the upper and lower edges. There is craquelure across the surface and abrasions. The surface is dirty with areas of staining. Held in a wooden frame with a gilt border.
