Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with some wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is rubbing to the gilding, in particular at the high points. There are a few minor nicks and scratches. There is a metal pin to the back of the Apostle's head. The bronze appears to be marked: III at the back, probably to indicate its position within a larger ensemble. The palms of the hands are flattened and have some residues, indicating they may have acted as supports. There is also an indentation to the Apostle's back, presumably for the same reason.
