Condition
Overall the condition of the silver processional cross is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are various minor lacunae and small fissures to the silver, in particular to the drum at the stem. Some of the appliques are a little loose. A few pins which fasten the appliques and silver plate to the matrix are lost. Some pins are replaced (some are iron). The silver covers of the two parallel Cross terminals are slightly detached and raised. Some further silver elements are lifting slightly. There is general oxidation to the silver consistent with the material. There is a degree of rubbing to some of the surface detail. Some of the moulding edges are a little warped. The lower tubular stem is likely to be a replacement. Wear to the 20th-century velvet mount.
