There acquired by a Private Collection, New Mexico;
Thence by descent.

Condition

The panel is uncradled, but stable. In the extreme upper left corner, partially visible when framed, there is a minor loss to the panel. A decorative image presents well with minor scattered craquelure. A half inch, possible white surface accretion in the water at lower center and on the tree at center right. A minor surface dent that is a quarter inch long on the sky at upper right. Minor surface scratch, possibly inherent to the panel on lower right quadrant. Visible to the naked eye are three thin lines of strengthening, two extending from the lower center, and one from the upper left edge. Under UV scattered spots of retouches, with a more concentrated area that fluoresces on the sky at upper right (possibly inherent to the work). Inpainting to address prior frame abrasions scattered at the edges. Offered in an ebonized wooden frame with an inner gold lining.
