Condition
Unexamined out of frame. The canvas is original. The canvas undulates slightly and there is a slight stretcher bar mark towards the right edge. There is a pattern of cracking and reticulation throughout the work, in line with the Artist's working methods and materials, with one or two possible historic flecks of loss. This has been examined by an external conservator and is stable. There is light surface dirt. This excepting, the work appears in excellent condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is floated and held behind glass in a painted wooden frame.
